Our summer schedule looked like this in 2025 for the Boys and we would expect 2026 to offer something broadly similar. The Sussex Young Cricketers’ League determines the timing of matches so any changes will relate only to training and which slots work best for coaches and players alike.
Winter training will probably take place on Sundays at BACA, and other venues, while some squads are seeking to train on Saturday or even midweek, and we will seek to find net facilities and bookings that accommodate those requirements.
U9s: Training on Friday evenings, matches on Sunday mornings
U10s: Training on Friday evenings, matches on Saturday mornings
U11s: Training on Friday evenings, matches on Sunday mornings
U12s: Training on Sunday mornings, matches on Monday evenings
U13s: Training on Sunday mornings, matches on Thursday evenings
U14s: Training on Sunday afternoons, matches on Tuesday evenings
U15s: Training at Sunday lunchtime, matches on Monday evenings
U16s: Training on Thursday evenings with the Adult XIs (or Sunday lunchtime with the U15s), matches on Wednesday evenings, once exams are done and dusted
Our Women's and Girls' teams train on Monday evenings during the summer.
Your player(s) also has (have) the ability to go along to the club ground and use the outdoor nets and artificial batting strips whenever you can, so please feel free to make use of those facilities.
Plenty of advice and help will be given on kit and equipment throughout the season. We will look to run a swap and sale of second-hand kit at some stage if we can, to help cut the cost for you, and will continue to develop communal team kit bags for the U9, U10, U11 and U12 Boys (and all of the Girls’ teams). This shared kit (helmets, pads, bats, the lot) will hopefully mean that we can be as inclusive as possible and get as many players involved as possible, especially when they transition to hardball cricket, as we know kit is expensive and it can be a barrier for some.
