St Peter's U9s vs Brighton and Hove U9s

Sunday 20th 9.30am

As unexpected patches of blue sky appeared overhead with the sun casting faint shadows on the square, the captains faced off for the toss. St Peter's captain, Oliver called correctly and chose to bowl.

Albert and Adam were playing for the club for the first time. The team put in a strong bowling performance: Harvey's six (!) catches a definite highlight. Unfortunately extras took their toll. Brighton and Hove finished on 148 for 9 ( net 303).

After some inspirational words from Tony, our boys went into bat.

A resolute batting performance was hindered by the weather. A fine mizzle descended making batting and scoring (!) more challenging.

Despite a valiant effort our team fell a few runs short, finishing on 88 for 8.

So a win for Brighton and Hove but a great effort from our boys. Special mentions for captain Oliver and new players, Albert and Adam all of whom did well.
