St Peter's CC's Junior Awards Day for 2026 took place on Saturday 12 September at the Velodrome, as the progress made by the junior teams on the pitch was given full and merited recognition.

Additional awards were also presented to Ralph L (Sunday XI Best Bowler), alongside deserved thanks for those junior players who kindly helped with the All-Stars and U9-U11 Boys coaching sessions on Tuesdays and Fridays during the summer.

Some of our teams excelled, too, even as the club's ethos drives a focus on fun, participation, player development and playing the game in the right way, instead of winning at any cost.

The U11 Girls came within a whisker of winning their league; the U10 Boys went unbeaten and the U9-U10 Boys reached the Softball Cup finals at Arundel Castle CC for the third year in a row; the U11 Boys came top of their league; the U12 Boys won their division; the U15 Boys defended their league title yet again, while one team reached a Cup semi final and the other the Plate final; and the U16 Boys won the Sussex Junior Festival Bowl competition.

Most importantly of all, we played nearly 200 games across the junior programme, winning and learning, and thus lived up to our ethos of more cricket, more people, more often.

In this respect, we must say well done to all of the players and must also thank all of the team coaches and managers, as well as all of those who umpire, score, set up, pack up, make teas, support and provide transport so the players get to and from games safely. We salute you all.
